About Myself

I received my Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2003. Subsequently, I pursued my graduate study at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2005. My doctoral thesis is regarding the synthesis and biological evaluation of aurones as potential chemopreventive agents for which I earned my PhD in 2009.

Presently, I teach pharmaceutical, organic and medicinal chemistry at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, USM to pharmacy undergraduates.

My research interests include lead optimization to discover new, drug-like compounds and developing natural products for medicinal and health purposes. My approaches are chemical synthesis of small molecules, structure-activity relationship profiling, in vitro biological or biophysical assays, in vitro pharmacokinetic evaluation as well as some computational studies.

My publications are found on Google Scholar.
